Benaud Trio
The Benaud Trio is one of Australia’s finest young ensembles. Formed in early 2005, pianist Amir Farid, violinist Lachlan Bramble, and cellist Ewen Bramble have established themselves as formidable performers of the major repertoire, works by Australian composers and music with a pop/jazz influence. In 2010 the Benauds will present two concerts filled with excitement and musical fun. Concerts are approximately one hour followed by afternoon tea.
Café Music
Sunday December 5, 3pm
| Franz Schubert | Piano Trio in B flat Op.99 |
| Paul Schoenfield | Café Music |
The premiere of Schubert’s magical Op.99 Trio involved much drinking, dancing and high spirits! Paul Schoenfield’s 1987 hit ‘Café Music’ was written with exactly this sort of merriment in mind. Combining elements of Viennese, gypsy and Broadway styles, Schoenfield’s witty take on high class dinner music is a rollicking rollercoaster of musical fun.
