About Test Drive
Test Drive the Arts began in the UK – the marketing agency Arts About Manchester borrowed the term from the car industry, where potential buyers are encouraged to try a product before making the decision to buy. Test Drive programs are also running in New Zealand, Victoria and Queensland. In South Australia, Test Drive the Arts is part of an ongoing commitment by Arts SA (under the Government of SA) to build new audiences.
How it works
After you register as a test driver on the website you will be emailed a form for choosing the concerts you are interested in test driving in the months ahead. Once you have submitted your selection your test drive date will be confirmed within 7–10 days. Closer to the concert you will receive all the information you and your guest need for attending. (The two tickets are available for collection from the concert venue box office around half an hour before the concert begins). In the days following the concert you will be emailed a quick survey to complete – we are simply interested in hearing your feedback on the experience. There are no other conditions. Once you submit your survey you will be eligible for the next round of test drive offers.
Test drivers and their guest can attend three concerts as part of the program. You can then opt to remain on the mailing list to receive information and special offers for upcoming concerts.
We work on an honesty system – test drive is intended for people who have had no recent (within three years) experience of chamber music.
